The Lindsay plant is a state of the art manufacturing facility incorporating proprietary systems for the processing of citrus into pasteurized and frozen peel/juice ingredient products primarily for the marmalade preserving industry. These peel based products have also found excellent application for many sauces, bakery and other food items beyond marmalade. Fresh, whole fruit coming into this plant is cleaned thoroughly and then channeled through a processing line which incorporates systems to remove and sort out exterior blemishes from the peel. This is followed by shaving and shredding or dicing to meet product specifications. The focus on high quality and leveraging the capabilities of this facility has helped make Vita-Pakt the dominant supplier of citrus peel for marmalade throughout North America. In addition, the Lindsay plant produces the only domestic fresh pack California Kiwi Fruit ingredient products, resulting in both pasteurized and non-pasteurized frozen Kiwi purees and clarified juice concentrates.
